My bed!
8/17/02
When I sleep, I sleep all over the bed!  I should have taken one of Mom's at this time, to show you how neat and pristine her bed looks!

We're in Amarillo, TX (where I was born).  We went downstairs to have breakfast, most of the hotel/motel places in this day and age offer a continental breakfast.  Well let me tell you, the Day's Inn of Amarillo goes one step further!  Along with the usual "continental" stuff there were scrambled eggs, as well as biscuits & gravy, yuuummmmmmm.
After breakfast we got in the car and went over to Mildred's - she's Granny's sister-in-law and helped take care of her when she needed it.

Throughout her life Mildred has stepped up and helped people whenever they needed it.  She's done more than her share of good deeds!

With true Southern hospitality she insisted we stay for lunch.  Had a tasty meal of Lasagna, salad, breadsticks, and Sunshine cake for dessert.

Imogene below, Mildred's niece, came up from Claude for lunch & to visit.

1330 - Unfortunately we can't stay and visit long so we're back in the car getting gas.  We also make a stop at the WalMart in Amarillo so I could buy a cheap purse to haul around my cameras (two cameras, digital for the webpage and regular for scrapbooking photos!), billfold, and other stuff without worrying about losing things.  It's about 83 degrees at this time.
Hotel Rd.
1430 - This is the road that runs in front of the farm that Mom grew up on, and a place where I spent lots of fun times.  Believe it or not it now has a street sign proclaiming it "Hotel Rd!"

Now tell me, what kind of name is that for a Texas farm road !!!!!
